I’m glad you decided to visit my web site. Here you can view a wide range of my writing samples. I’m a Colorado-based freelance writer specializing in travel, health, food and consumer issues, as well as the juvenile market. In fact there are few topics I won’t tackle.

I am always on the lookout for new outlets and know you will find me to be reliable, accurate and deadline conscious. Plus editors soon discover that I’m the person to call when they are in a bind.

My latest venture is Living On The Cheap, a national website filled with practical consumer-related advice and savings. I also own and operate Mile High On The Cheap, a successful metro Denver website devoted to deals, bargains and freebies and co-author the weekly column “Cheap Checklist” for the Denver Post.

You’ll find my stories in Westways (Visas 101, September 2016), Boys’ Life (Olympic Moments, August 2016), Global Traveler (Rules of Engagement, September 2016; The Great Escape, Leisure issue 2016; The Big Splurge, July 2016; Trusted Travelers, May 2016), AAA Traveler Worldwise (Fly Through Airport Security, Winter 2016), AAA World (Luggage That Suits, January/February 2016), Global Traveler (A Breed Apart, Hotel Update: Carlson Rezidor, January 2016), Currents (Amazing Alumni Spaces, December 2015), Global Traveler (At Your (Self) Service, Class Act edition 2015), Tidewater Traveler (Talk Is Cheap, November 2015) Northern New England Journey (Talk Is Cheap, November 2015), Westways (Talk Is Cheap, September 2015), AARP The Magazine (Buddy Can You Spare… Five Grand, September 2015).

Other stories: Global Traveler (Value Added, May 2015), USAA.com (Broke & Broken), Global Traveler (Business Travel Meets Romance, February 2015), Global Traveler (One Way or Another, January 2015), Westways and AAA Hawaii (The Game of Points, January 2015).

You can listen to my reporting for On Travel Radio from the Travel Goods Association 2012 Travel Goods Showcase. My article Decoding The Alphabet Soup published in the Dallas Morning News won a Gold Award in the 2010 SATW Foundation Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition.

While I hope you will peruse my writing samples section, you are also welcome to read some of my work posted online (either online versions of print stories or online-only articles). These include Get a taste of a Michelin-star chef without busting your budget, (Miami Herald, October 30, 2013), Don’t wait until you are too old to plan your estate, Denver Post, October 13, 2013), How to fly through airport security (Miami Herald, August 11, 2013), Matchmaking: the right luggage for your trip and Midyear budget checkup (Denver Post, June 3, 2013).

As a professional, full-time journalist I hold membership in the American Society of Journalists and Authors and Society of American Travel Writers.
