I’m glad you decided to visit my web site. Here you can view a wide range of my writing samples. I’m a Colorado-based freelance writer specializing in travel, health, food and consumer issues, as well as the juvenile market. In fact there are few topics I won’t tackle.

I am always on the lookout for new outlets and know you will find me to be reliable, accurate and deadline conscious. Plus editors soon discover that I’m the person to call when they are in a bind.

I own and operate Mile High On The Cheap, a successful metro Denver website devoted to deals, bargains and freebies and co-author the monthly column “Cheap Checklist” for the Denver Post. Mile High on the Cheap has been voted Westword magazine’s Readers’ Choice for Best Free Service in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

I also co-own Living On The Cheap, a national website filled with practical consumer-related advice and savings.

Currently, twice a month, I contribute a consumer-lifestyle feature column to The Washington Post.

Among some of my favorite pieces in The Washington Post: Thinking about purchasing a portable generator? Here’s what you need to know. ; Why installing a smart doorbell might be a clever move; and How I donated 57 tubes of toothpaste, 35 bottles of shampoo and 108 rolls of toilet paper for $30 — this story won the 2019 Outstanding How-To Article from the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

My article Decoding The Alphabet Soup published in the Dallas Morning News won a Gold Award in the 2010 SATW Foundation Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition.

As a professional, full-time journalist I hold membership in the American Society of Journalists and Authors and Society of American Travel Writers.
